John Saunders is the author of 'Sexual Abuse Survivor’s Handbook: One Man Fights the Catholic Church' (2013), and soon to be released, 'One in Six' (2019), which is a personal memoir about John’s childhood abuse and his recovery process. John is passionate about helping survivors of childhood sexual abuse through counselling, education and advocacy. John works as a counsellor, specialising in relationships, childhood sexual abuse,  childhood trauma, and grief and loss. John works out of Byron Bay, NSW, and Brisbane, QLD.  He is also available for Skype sessions if you live outside these areas.

 

John delivers public information sessions, including guest lectures and interactive forums, on the subject of child sexual abuse. John has been actively involved in advocating for fair victim compensation and respectful reconciliation at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Australia.
